You can consider checking our Unicorn Bumper Cart & Vertical Plate Tree L72 designed to fulfil the need for a Plate storage solution in a compact & Efficient manner.
It is our Proprietary Rubber Material made of customised composition, which is made to achieve excellent properties like bounce deadening, elegant finish look & extreme durability. Also, it allows us to keep a consistent control on our manufacturing standards by minimising tolerances & imperfections.
Since 5kg & 10kg bumper plates are thinner compared to others, they need to be more rigid to withstand the stress of being dropped. Due to which these plates are manufactured with higher Shore A durometer ratings compared to others, i.e., Making it harder and can endure droppings better.Â
Yes, Bumper Plates have various advantages for deadlifting unless and until your max weight training or PRs goes beyond 230kg because, as we know, bumper plates are thicker than iron plates & have limited loadable capacity.
- Uniform Plate Diameter:Â From the point (height) where you start, your deadlift rep is basically dependent on the diameter of the plate, & in the case of Traditional plates, it is not uniform with all weights, i.e., 5kg smaller than 10kg followed by 15kg, 20kg & 25kg plates but in Standard bumper plates all the Plates’ diameter is same, i.e., 450mm. Here the question is, does this thing matters? Undoubtedly yes, because if you are training with a smaller weight like for e.x. 5kg, 10kg, or 15kg then by using the traditional plates with smaller & varying diameter makes you crouch down far too to reach your safest & ideal starting position, i.e., 18″ above the ground, & though comprising with this outcome an improper technique which may lead to injuring yourself. Whereas, with an even diameter of bumper plates, you can start with a safe starting point & will be assured of a uniform starting point even while training with smaller weight plates.
- Sound reducing & vibration dampening capabilities:Â Also, Bumper Plates are featured with sound-reducing & vibration dampening capabilities; hence you can perform your deadlift without disturbing your neighbours & worrying about your platform or barbell.
Shore A Durometer: The Shore A Durometer rating is a measure of the hardness of a material. It ranges with a scale between 1 – 100 & generally, the bumper plates are rated above 65.Â
Higher Rating specify:
- The Rubber is Harder & tends to bounce less while, Strongly resistant to indentation.Â
- Also, Hard rubber is more durable and stiffer- which can have a dead bounce and better supports a barbell. Hence, our Premium Competition Bumper Plates has an optimal durometer of 94.
Lower rating specify:
- The Rubber is Soft & tends to bounce more while less resistant to indentation.
- Though this soft rubber is good at absorbing impacts, again, its durability becomes a concern.
Note: If you go with too hard rubber, it can be noisy, and worse- hard rubber can crack. Likewise, going with too soft rubber again becomes the wrong choice.
Conclusion: The Bumper Plates with a durometer ranging 85-95 is ideally the best choice for you.
Advantage: The less bounce means the barbell; the collars and the center disc are less prone to heavy impacts, which increases the life of your equipment. Also, the less bounce assures you the more predictable bar travel when the weight dropped, which makes you practice safely even in a small place like a home gym.
